Notary Foundations Certificate

Description

The Notary Foundations Certificate provides new and developing notaries with a practical foundation in notarial duties, document handling, signer identification, recordkeeping, ethics, and professional standards.

This 16-hour, instructor-led program uses live instruction, guided examples, practical exercises, and supporting resources to help students perform common notarial acts with greater confidence and consistency.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN
Students will learn how to:

• Understand notarial authority, responsibilities, ethics, and professional boundaries

• Recognize common notarial acts and complete certificate wording accurately

• Verify signer identity, willingness, awareness, and acceptable identification

• Review documents without providing unauthorized legal advice

• Maintain proper journal records while protecting confidential information and documents

• Recognize fraud, manage risk, determine when refusal is required, and apply procedures through guided scenarios

LIVE VIRTUAL CLASS INFORMATION

• Format: Live, instructor-led virtual training

This program is delivered live online through Google Meet. Participants must attend from a computer or tablet with a working camera, microphone, speakers, and reliable internet connection.

Class dates and times are listed under the available Class Session options. All times are Eastern Time.

Enrollment includes the student workbook, course-specific checklists, classroom exercises, assessment materials, protected student resources, and eligibility for a certificate of completion.

The Google Meet link and protected class materials will be available through the student’s TTS Training Academy account. Registered students will also receive a Google Calendar invitation before class.

Live sessions will be recorded. Students will receive a recording notice and must provide the required consent before participating.

The class requires a minimum of 3 registered students and is limited to 10 students. If minimum enrollment is not reached, TTS Training Academy may reschedule the class or provide the options stated in the Training Refund and Cancellation Policy.

STUDENT PORTAL CONTENT

Registered students will receive access to course materials through the TTS Training Academy student portal. Materials may include:

• Notarial certificate examples

• Signer identification checklist

• Document-handling checklist

• Journal and recordkeeping examples

• Ethics and fraud-prevention guidance

• Practical exercises and case scenarios

• Final course assessment

• Certificate of completion requirements

Course materials are provided for the enrolled student’s educational use and may not be copied, shared, resold, or distributed without written authorization.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

Students must complete the published attendance, participation, and assignment requirements and earn a score of at least 80% on the final assessment to receive a TTS Training Academy certificate of completion.

This certificate documents completion of the training program. It does not grant a notary commission, government license, legal credential, or authorization to perform notarial acts.

STATE REQUIREMENTS NOTICE

This program teaches broadly applicable notary practices and professional procedures. Notary laws, authorized acts, identification requirements, certificate wording, recordkeeping rules, education requirements, and commissioning procedures vary by state.

Students must follow the laws and official guidance of their commissioning state.
